The first thing that will be featured on this page is going to be the
Layered AI for RTS Games project together with sorce code in C++,
utilising Win32 programming (Microsoft Fundation Classes framework).
The project is under development and currently includes:
- Direct Draw Manager
- Setting fullscreen or windowed display
- Loading BMPs to surfaces
- Direct Sound Manager
- Loading WAVes to fullsize buffers
- Loading OGG to streaming buffers
- Playing multiple sounds at the same time
- Quad Tree implementation
- Insert
- Delete
- Select(x,y,w,h)
As of now, the DirectDrawManager is still getting improved.
Next to come is GameManager with loading screen part.
After that, more planning will take place and next sections will be announced,
probably enchancing DD Manager, or designing classes needed for the Main Menu
part of the program.
This project / program is a part of a paper, the Msc. thesis entitled
"Artificial Intelligence in Real Time Strategy Games". We will find
a lot of interesting topics there, from history of AI in RTS games, through
AI types in RTS games, pathfinding, computer the player concept, to
Layerd AI project, which is the major part of the work.
The good news are - this work will be fully published here and available
for free as to serve the humankind.
Edit:
We have added the first, test article named Basic Wave Header
Second test article
Edit2:
Making Diablo 2 Bot
This page is also expected to feature more than programming materials.
Going far further, we may find out, that there will be hosted variuos articles
from completely different areas, for example cooking and becoming a good farmer
stuff. Ok, maybe not that exacly but expect the unexpected. Never know what hit 'em.
The site will be launched soon, but no date is known as of now.
Staff is currently busy with Christmas time, playing Diablo 2 (again.. damn),
and working on the RtsLai project. After so-called New Year Event, there
are planned some other bussiness-like activities that may change all plans.
Yes, just 'may', nobody says it will definitely do.
OK, looks like enough has been revealed. Merry Christmas, and the Happy New Year
to
every
body!
"Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me baby
Do you recognize me?
Well, It's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
(Happy Christmas)
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I love you" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day
you gave it away
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special"
